Vaastu Shaastra is a rich and developed branch of Astrology. As different parts of a human body have a natural and integral connection with the body similarly Astrology has natural and integral connection with all its branches namely Samudrik Shaastra, Numerology, Swar Shaastra, PrashnaShaastra and Vaastu Shaastra etc.

The reason for this close relationship is that both Astrology and Vaastu have their origin in the ancient Vedic Samhitas. The development of both has been inspired from the Indian philosophy of life. The aim of both is to provide comfort and security to every human being and the foremost subject of both is the chain of events that take place in human life. Therefore, both Astrology and Vaastu Shaastra are complementary to each other.

Despite having a close relationship, there is a basic difference between the two which is explained below :

Vaastu Shastra considers environment responsible for any favourable or unfavourable events in human life. Therefore, Vaastu Shaastra experiments and uses the natural forces present in our environment viz. gravitational force, magnetic force and solar energy to take life towards progress, prosperity and satisfaction. Whereas, Astrology considers following four factors responsible for faourable or unfavourable outcomes :

• Vanshanukram ( Lineage )
• Environment
• Karma ( Effort )
• Kaal (Time)

Astrology, therefore, acknowledges the importance of Vaastu but at the same time takes into account other factors also.
